A-W-E-S-O-M-E, F-U-N, C-H-A-L-L-E-N-G-I-N-G  That's how you spell this activity! Academic Spell Bowl is a team competition where students spell words by writing them down on paper. Students do not have to stand at a microphone and spell out loud...that is a spelling bee. The competition has 8 rounds, with each round consisting of 9 words. One speller per team will compete in each round. There is one regional competition, usually at Mt. Vernon Jr. High (November 5, 6pm) and then a state competition on the Purdue campus (November 16, 2:45pm). Spell bowl is open to any interested student! We practice our word lists after school until 4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Sign-ups will be open from the first day of school until August 23. See Ms. Mousa in Room 107 for more info and to sign up!
